Tomar el sol es importante para nosotros, ya que nos permite hacer cosas como asimilar la vitamina D, por ejemplo. Los humanos tenemos mecanismos para protegernos de los daños del sol, como el ponerse moreno (la melanina es lo que produce la piel para oscurecerse y evitar que la luz llegue a las células vivas de la parte más profunda de la piel; es decir, ponerse moreno ayuda a protegerse del sol) y el enrojecimiento y la inflamación (con los que el cuerpo intenta ayudar al calor a disiparse más rápido de la piel).
Sin embargo, tomar el sol en exceso puede tener consecuencias nefastas para nuestra salud, en especial la de la piel. Llega un momento en que esos mecanismos naturales no son suficientes. La energía que nos llega del sol está ionizada, así que propicia la creación de radicales libres.
Cómo protegerse del sol
